MERMEC Group, a leading Italian specialist in technologies for rail network safety and maintenance as well as a part of Angel (a holding company that develops solutions for the rail, digital mechatronics, and aerospace sectors), was among the exhibitors at 'Mass Transit Innovation Japan' held in Tokyo until November 10, 2023, and presented the latest innovative solutions in the fields of diagnostics and maintenance engineering.

The only company to represent Italy at one of the main Asian fairs specializing in the state of the art of rail technology, after consolidating its presence in Japan, MERMEC continues with its investment and growth plan: After the latest strategic agreements signed with some of the major players in the Japanese railway industry, the Group, through MERMEC Japan, announced the start of an agreement, unique in its kind in the railway field, with a major Japanese operator that will be developed within a high-tech Research & Development path.

“Our presence in Japan has grown significantly thanks to the strategic partnerships that we have established and this new initiative will further consolidate our position in the local rail sector,” said Giuseppe Aurisicchio, managing director of MERMEC Japan. “The new collaboration with a major Japanese operator represents a significant step forward in our research and development journey, thereby enabling the sharing and dissemination of best practices, know-how, and the excellence of Italian innovation in Asia.”

MERMEC, which is present with its solutions in 73 countries, is the only Italian company in the railway industry to have supplied, managed, and maintained diagnostic and measurement systems in Japan through MERMEC Japan, a company established in 2017 and composed of a group of experts with a significant and rapidly growing order book in Japan and other Asia-Pacific countries.
