On 24 September the Ural Locomotives plant handed over the 200th Lastochka (Swallow) electric train to the Russian Railways. It was a ten-carriage train of enhanced comfort ES1P # 034. The plant produced two hundred "Swallows" in 6 years.
The first high-speed electric train was manufactured at the enterprise in 2014, deliveries to the customer began in 2015. Since then, the designers of Ural Locomotives, taking into account the needs of Russian Railways, have developed several modifications for different operating ranges. The plant serially produces DC “Lastochka” for intracity and suburban communication at a distance of up to 200 km. Also in the model range are two-system trains of superior comfort, capable of operating from the AC and DC networks, for interregional transportation up to 700 km.
"Lastochka" for the Moscow Central Ring can be attributed to a separate category. The route now runs 51 trains equipped with automatic stop sensors on the platform, additional handrails, bicycle parking, passenger information systems and other options specially designed to provide a passenger traffic of about half a million people per day.
“Our plant was the first in Russia to master and in record time began to produce high-speed electric trains,” stressed Oleg Spai, General Director. - We are constantly improving and developing, offering new products and technical solutions, working for the future. Our designers, in close cooperation with Russian Railways, are now designing double-deck trains and trains for high-speed lines. "
Currently, the Ural "Lastochka" carry passengers in 24 regions of Russia and carry out international communication with the Republic of Belarus. The maintenance of the rolling stock operation is carried out by specialists in the regional centers of the plant throughout the country.
Ural Locomotives (Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Sverdlovsk Region) specializes in the design, production and maintenance of new generation rolling stock.
The plant serially produces main-line DC electric locomotives "SINARA" (2ES6) with a collector traction drive, main-line DC electric locomotives "GRANIT" (2ES10) with an asynchronous traction drive and high-speed electric trains "Lastochka" of various modifications, as well as main line AC electric locomotives of the series 2ES7.
