In a recent development in Bräcke, Sweden, ProTrain has augmented its timber and pulpwood transportation capabilities with the integration of Innofreight's Smart GigaWood system. They acquired 10 units of the 2x40 InnoWaggons equipped with the GigaWood stanchion system. While the company is well-regarded for providing efficient railway solutions and training train drivers, this collaboration is expected to boost overall efficiency, particularly for their clientele in the wood industry.

A distinctive advantage of the Smart GigaWood system lies in its capacity to increase payload. The innovative design allows InnoWaggons to carry a staggering 142.1 tons each, made possible through lightweight construction and maximized volume. These design enhancements enable the system to load up to 30 per cent more wood than traditional wagons, highlighting the fusion of flexibility and agility in the rail transport sphere.

Beyond sheer volume, the GigaWood stanchion system also emphasizes safety and adaptability. The ingenious design negates the need for belts during loading and unloading processes. Consequently, no personnel are required to be in proximity to heavy cargo, markedly enhancing workplace safety. Moreover, these stanchions can be tailored to accommodate various timber lengths, ranging from 2.5 to 12 meters, further cementing the system's reputation as a versatile solution for timber transportation.
