A climate-friendly journey is also becoming increasingly important for many guests on winter holidays. The Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), the Association of Austrian Cable Cars (Fachverband der österreichischen Seilbahnen), and the Tirol Tourist Board (Tirol Werbung) are expanding the Nightjet to the Snow offer for the coming winter season 2022/23. With a relaxed journey to and from the ski resorts on ÖBB's night trains, the holiday can already begin at home.
Together with crucial Tyrolean regions, it was already possible last winter to book the ski pass with the arrival and departure on ÖBB's Nightjets, as well as the transfer from the station to the accommodation.
In the coming winter, another new destination will be added: Seefeld region - Tyrol's high plateau.

The packages, including rail travel, the 3-, 4-, 5- or 6-day ski pass, as well as the transfer, can now be booked for the Tyrolean ski resorts of St. Anton am Arlberg, Stubai Glacier, Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental as well as KitzSki - ski resort Kitzbühel, Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau, Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena and for the Zillertal.
With its diverse initiatives, the Austrian cable car industry is well on its way toward climate neutrality and has saved 20 percent of energy in the past ten years alone. Sustainability in arrival and departure is one of the few areas where there is still further potential to be activated in terms of CO2 reduction. "Practical offers such as In the Nightjet to the Snow, which perfectly combine comfort, climate friendliness, and affordability, are the most vital," explains Franz Hörl, chairman of the Association of Cable Cars in the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.
Since 2012, the Tirol Tourist Board has been promoting travel by rail and strengthening public transport as part of the Tirol auf Schiene initiative. "On the one hand, we want to relieve the burden on our roads and at the same time promote environmentally friendly mobility," emphasizes Karin Seiler, Managing Director of the Tirol Tourist Board. "Successful projects such as In the Nightjet to the Snow make a significant contribution to our efforts to bring travel to the railways, taking into account the entire mobility chain.
