The Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Tomislav Momirović, attended the establishment of the Ministerial Coordination Council of Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia and Turkey on July 5th in Istanbul.

The focus of the work of this council, which is being established for the first time, will be the monitoring of all investments in infrastructure, primarily in railways, where the state of Serbia has ambitious plans, said Minister Momirović.

Together with his colleagues from these countries, Minister Momirović signed the document on the establishment of the Quadrilateral Council, which will support the further development of railway traffic through the implementation of infrastructure projects, facilitation of border procedures, and exchange of knowledge and experience.

In addition to Minister Momirović, the Serbian delegation included Assistant Minister for the Railway Sector Anita Dimoski, General Director of "Srbija Kargo" a.d. Dušan Garibović and general director of "Serbian Railway Infrastructure" a.d. Nebojša Šurlan.

The Quadrilateral Ministerial Coordination Council will be at the top of the Working Group for Railways, and the formation of several technical groups is also planned.

"I conveyed to my colleagues that the Government of the Republic of Serbia is currently investing in ten highways and that we are not giving up on any infrastructure project, that we are connecting the largest cities in Serbia with the most modern road and rail infrastructure, which carries the fastest trains in Europe," the minister said.

Momirović emphasized that all this is taking place in the circumstances when a war is raging in Europe and "when we have to ensure a sustainable supply and sustainable consumption of energy for our population". He also assessed that connecting is a good way to show Serbia's readiness to respond to the biggest challenges.
