Rail Cargo Terminal - BILK, the Hungarian subsidiary of the Rail Cargo Group and Europe's strategic intermodal hub, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

RCT-BILK has direct connections with the continent's main seaports and terminals. In 2022, the Company was involved in the forwarding of some 130,000 combined transport consignments - containers, semi-trailers, and swap bodies.

Attila Czöndör, Board member, and CEO of Rail Cargo Terminal - BILK emphasized: “Decades of experience behind us prove that we are on the right track, and our main objective remains to offer complex, high-quality services in close cooperation with the members of the Group, covering the entire combined freight transport chain. Green technology innovations and digitalization developments play a key role in our efforts. We have a modern fleet of equipment, and an advanced infrastructure and are constantly expanding our service portfolio to meet the needs of the modern age and the expectations of our customers.”

Strategic role and a widespread network

Rail Cargo Terminal - BILK has regular and direct connections to many of Europe's key seaports (Hamburg, Koper, Pireus, Rijeka) and land-based intermodal terminals (Vienna, Záhony, Halkali, Enns, Neuss, Wels, Curtici, Ploiesti) via trains operated by its partners.

Due to its geographical location, RCT-BILK has always been an important part of the Eurasian strategy of the Rail Cargo Group and its strategic importance has been further enhanced by COSCO SHIPPING GROUP becoming a shareholder in the company in 2019.

Non-stop availability and full capacity for partners

The 22.3-hectare terminal has seven loading ramps, each 750-meter long, and two 280-meter-long tracks. The combined transport of consignments is handled by two gantry cranes, nine reach stackers (capable of handling six loaded and three empty containers), two terminal tractors, and two terminal semi-trailers. RCT-BILK will continue to provide its services to its partners on both road and rail 24 hours a day.
