At the request of the Czech Ministry of Transport, the European Commission has waived renewable energy charges in electricity prices for transport that requires them.

The Department for Transport set out a plan to the European Commission asking for a waiver of renewable energy charges on electricity prices for all rail transport, which was approved on Thursday, November 10. Ministry of Transport considers this outcome a major success.

Czech Transport Minister Kupka commented on Twitter, "Success of Czech negotiations. Today the European Commission informed us about the approval of our plan to waive the renewable energy charges in electricity prices for rail transport, metro, trams, trolleybuses and cable cars.
