PKP CARGO, the Industrial Development Agency (IDA), and Polski Tabor Szynowy (PTS) have agreed to work together in the rolling stock sector, with a particular focus on restoring the Gniewczyn railcar factory.

The parties involved in the agreement stated that they would prioritize two main factors in their cooperative efforts. The first factor is related to the consolidation of rolling stock assets in the Industrial Development Agency Group, with PTS acquiring assets from PKP CARGO S.A., including real estate and movable property, at the Gniewczyn Lańcucka factory site. The transaction will be funded by IDA and is intended to help restore the Gniewczyn plant's capacity for repairing and producing rolling stock.

The second main aspect of the cooperation will involve ordering maintenance services for PKP CARGO's rolling stock, as well as acquiring new rolling stock. The parties involved in the agreement stated that these activities will contribute to meeting climate goals and align with the principles of the Green Deal, which aims to increase the use of rail transport in supply chains. The signatories of the agreement expressed their recognition of the potential benefits and synergies that could be gained from working together, and plan to collaborate on rail freight projects in various forms. The parties involved in the agreement pledged to explore further opportunities for cooperation and make use of their respective resources.

The Letter of Intent is valid for six months, and serves as a starting point for further discussions and negotiations. It is not a legally binding agreement, and may be terminated at any time by mutual agreement or the signing of a contract.
